MODISTE & Gucci
Florentine Fashion Brand Celebrates 100 Years
By Heather Crosby
Gucci’s historic fashion house was founded in 1921 after Guccio Gucci opened a leather shop in Florence, Italy (Via della Vigna Nuova 7). The brand garnered attention from sophisticated British and American travelers — particularly those interested in purchasing high-end equestrian apparel and gear — who frequented Florence.
As the Founder and Creative Director of Nashville’s upscale retailer (with a showroom opening soon!), Jami-lyn Fehr Hall finds great inspiration for MODISTE from Guccio Gucci’s story, as she truly values the superb quality of genuine Italian leather goods.
When asked about her affinity towards the Gucci brand, Jami-lyn shared: "Gucci was in many ways my introduction to luxury fashion. It was the first luxury handbag I ever owned, and sparked my interest and love for the process behind designer collections that isn't found in fast fashion. I love the history behind the house as well."
Gucci has achieved remarkable success, and to celebrate the luxury brand’s incredible 100-year milestone, we are sharing an exclusive look inside Florence’s beautiful Gucci Boutique.
