Style Guide: Fashion Week Street Style 2021

It’s the end of August and we all know what’s right around the corner… Fashion Week. If you’re one of the lucky few to attend this years’ shows, we can guarantee that you’ve been outfit planning, trend hunting, and designer scouting for months. Here at MODISTE, we’ve been stalking the runways for all the upcoming selects, as well as tracking the streets to see this year’s favorite trends. Up next, we will be serving the styles that stuck out to us the most, and will be giving you some lust-worthy selects to wear for your own paparazzi streetstyle pics.

  1. Vests

If there’s one thing that 2021 delivered, it's chic vests. Layer them, show a little skin, add some textures – come one, come all! Vests are turning out to be the closet staple of the moment. Being so versatile and transitional, you really can’t go wrong. LCDP offers a super sultry Knit Vest that will be the centerpiece of your next look.

  1. Sheer Details

Eye catching layers are turning heads and camera lenses. We love a sheer moment, and golly, Copenhagen delivered. Sheer dresses and statement pieces were the stars of the show (and the streets). Stand out with Sonia Carrasco’s matching set featuring the Sheer Knit Pants and the Sheer Knit Front Button Shirt. Style the top open with a contrasting Bra Top, another trend we saw countless times.

  1. Cargo Pants

We know one thing’s for sure – athleisure is here to stay, and it just keeps getting better and better. We’ve seen it all: Low-rise track pants and sporty shorts alike. MODISTE’s favorite? Cargo Pants. Perfect for when you’re wanting to change up your denim rotation. Dion Lee and Deveaux are giving us visions of potential NYFW looks.

  1. Tie Accents

Want to add a little edge to your aesthetic? Try this small detail – ties. We’ve seen our favorite Michelle Li style a pair of green tie-up trousers with a baby blue crop and we were HOOKED. Style these Camo Pocket Shorts with the Georgette Shirt for a pulled together outfit that hits all the marks: a matching set, tie details, sheer, and patterned.

  1. Patterns and Colors

Copenhagen Fashion Week wouldn’t be Copenhagen Fashion Week without their stand-out colors and patterns. Scrolling through the street-style photos felt like we were looking inside a Skittle bag, and we weren’t complaining. Dorothee Schumacher’s Oversized Wool Jacket is giving us all the fall feels. And if color isn’t your thing, try La Detresse’s White Widow Pullover with the matching Bike Shorts. These give a subtle nod to the checkered pattern we’ve been spotting while staying true to your neutral heart.
