Mark Cross

Bio

There isn't a more iconic American luxury leather brand than Mark Cross. Founded in Boston by Henry W. Cross in 1845, the brand was named after his only son, Mark, and blossomed into a quintessential American luxury lifestyle brand via the work of Patrick and Gerald Murphy, whom acquired the house in the late 1800s. Gerald and his wife entertained many of the Lost Generation's household names: Ernest Hemingway, Pablo Picasso, Cole Porter, and F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald. Mark Cross established its place in the luxury world when icon, Grace Kelly, donned a Mark Cross overnight case in Alfred Hitchcock's film Rear Window, and inspired the classic Grace Small Box Bag. The brand closed its doors in the 90s, but returned better than ever in 2011 with the same luxurious leather goods it was known for.
