History Lesson: Marni

This week's luxury brand rose to fame in Milan, Italy. A city many artists, designers, and creatives draw great inspiration from. Swiss designer Consuelo Castiglioni founded Marni in 1994 with hopes of creating a fun and innovative fashion brand. The Italian luxury brand began to make a name for itself in the 2000s with pieces sold in high-end stores and online. Marni also accepted the invitation to create a collection with H&M in 2012. The OTB Group took over the luxury brand in 2015 then a year later, Francesco Risso became the Creative Director.
Risso has successfully infused Castiglioni's playful spirit into the brand's ready-to-wear clothing. This luxury fashion brand is known for its fun take on prints and shapes. Fashion enthusiasts rave about Marni's endless ideas and avant-garde vision. Their innovative prints and silhouettes set Marni apart from its competition as a luxury fashion house. The brand designs clothing, handbags, accessories, shoes, and eyewear for women, men, and children. There is something for everyone at Marni.
GQ has dubbed Marni as "the most fun brand in fashion," and we're here for it. This fashion powerhouse stands out with its quirky, wearable luxury on the runway and the street. If you are looking for the perfect summer shorts, there's no better option than the Cotton Linen Shorts. They are versatile, lightweight, and exude quiet luxury. The Striped Mini Shorts also have the same vibe. A favorite top of ours, hands down, is the Graphic Print Drawstring Shirt. It's silky, adjustable, and watercolor-inspired. It goes well with our linen shorts linked above. Another chic and lightweight summer find is the Ombre Jersey Dress inspired by Flaminia Veronesi's artwork.
