Designer Bio

You may know this fashion house for their staple tabi boots, a cult classic in the fashion world. Martin Margiela created Maison Margiela in 1988 after working for Ann Demeulemeester and Jean-Paul Gaultier. The clothing is focused on deconstruction and making the pieces a work of art that has a meaning. The brand makes its contemporary brand MM6, ready-to-wear, haute couture, leather goods, and footwear. They became a part of OTB in 2002 and appointed the current creative director, John Galliano, in 2014. Martin Margiela typically stays out of the spotlight. However, his ethos for the brand is still very much a part of the creating process.
